my little rugrats.

so this summer i have spent a GOOD portion of my time with kids. I have been nannying for three families off and on and doing random babysitting jobs and did a week of VBS at my church. so needless to say, i am getting pretty popular with the 8 and under crowd. I absolutely ADORE working with kids, and i just love them. But this summer has taught me a lot about kids, and about myself. the past month though i have been spending my days with three great boys and here are a few things i have learned:

1. the contents of my purse have gone from just my wallet and chapstick, to hand sanitizer (LOTS OF IT), some form of toy, a snack of some sort and band aids. Let's just say, I am prepared for just about anything. call me mary poppins.
2. I have seen just about every kids movie that has been out this summer in theaters, some against my will.
3. i have gotten REALLY good at building things out of leggos, my best work was a model of buzz lightyear.
4. speaking of Buzz, i also have gone back to my roots of using my imagination for everything. I have to keep up with a four year old who pretends that cashews are the soldiers from toy story, so i have to be on top of my game. I often play the role of Buzz, because i cant be a sheriff, or so i've been told haha
5. i have perfected my cooking skills, and can now make the perfect bowl of mac n' cheese and/or oatmeal.
6. is going to the bowling ally three times in one week embarrassing? I bet not as embarrassing as loosing to three boys under the age of 10, one being only 4 years old...
7. the folsom zoo is not all its cracked up to be, although their deer and feline house cat exhibits were riveting.
8. because round table has temporary tattoos for .25 cents, doesn't mean we need to by $2 worth, but try telling that to the boys.
9. i have seen every episode of icarly. twice.
10. i now understand the point of mini vans, the sliding doors were GENIUS. everytime they open the door, i gringe becaue it flings so wide open that i get so nervous for the car next to us.

long story short, no matter how worn out i am at the end of the day, i have some of the best quotes from the things that these boys say, and laughing with them is the best. i love it! I am truely blessed by them.

although, some days i do feel like this.
