so the other day I was thinking about whats important in life. I was thinking about my passions, and what what I wanted to involve myself in. So it hit me; why not get involved in a nonprofit organization. I contemplated a few different things and did some research. I really want to adopt an old person, so I think that will be on my to-do list for this summer. Because lets be real, old people are freakin' awesome. I mean they are cute, and wear cute clothes and they have so much knowledge. They wear orthopedic shoes and love games, and i love both of those things (not so much the orthopedic shoes though, but still old people are awesome). side note: I cant wait to be in the red hats society when I'm like 80 years old. Those ladies are crazy and I love it. plus, everyone looks great in red and purple, right? yes.
anyways, I was struggling with finding a non-profit that I really wanted to get into. And then Time-Out rolled around (time-out is like a chapel at night, its a smaller crowd and more of a youth group feel. I really like it) anyways, at time out Invisible Children the non-profit organization came to talk. I had heard of Invisible Children just briefly (thanks to Sharpeezie) but I never really knew what it was. After hearing about what they are about, I knew exactly what non-profit I wanted to get involved in. Invisible Children is such a great organization, and it helps so many children get out of the war in Uganda. They focus on children and education, which are two things that I am really passionate about. I felt like it was such a calling, going to the Time-out and I feel like this is something that I really need to be apart of.
So, the next step is to sponsor a child, and make a difference in someones life. It is so simple and it really does help. It goes towards the child's education, and so they do not have to be child soldiers in the war. There is something so special about helping the next generation, and there is something that warms my heart knowing that a child is safe and in a better place. So if you so chose, join me! We can help the children of Uganda together!

Or even if that isn't your cut of tea, you can always adopt an old person :) either way, get out there and do something!
(speaking of "do something" check out Miles McPherson's, Pastor at Rock Church in San Diego, new book which encourages everyone to get involved and be apart of something). Getting involved is something that I really enjoy doing and I hope that others are passionate about it to!
